In a time of social distancing demanded by the COVID-19 pandemic, how to share the historical and cultural heritages with the public is a question museums are asking.
On May 17, one day before the International Museum Day, the Palace Museum will "open" to worldwide visitors through a guided tour broadcast online.
This will be a best chance for you to access the 600-year-old Forbidden City from a close distance without having to travel far or be stuck in crowd of travelers. Starting from the Longzong Gate and then following central axis to the Imperial Garden, the tour will allow you to enjoy a summer view of the Palace Museum's northern section and immerse yourself with its imperial architecture and historical stories.
Stay tuned to China Daily app to watch the event LIVE at 4:00 – 5:30 pm, Sunday, May 17.
