Baotou Airport in North China’s Inner Mongolia region launched more domestic flights in order to meet the travel needs of passengers, with three new flights launched during the May Day holiday period, according to a report in the Baotou Daily.

The Baotou-Shanghai-Pudong flight, operated by Spring Airlines, is scheduled to fly once daily. Another Baotou-Shanghai Pudong flight operated by China United Airlines is scheduled to fly three times a week, while a Baotou-Zhengzhou-Zhuhai flight operated by Donghai Airlines is to fly three times per week.

Officials said Baotou Airport has been actively coordinating domestic airlines to gradually resume flight routes in an orderly manner as things return to normal in the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak. During the five-day May Day holiday period, more than 120 flights were handled by the airport, serving some 9,000 passengers.

The Baotou-Shanghai direct flight has been increased to up to four flights per day. The Baotou-Zhengzhou flight has added up to three flights a day, while the Baotou-Guangzhou flight has been increased to up to two flights a day.

During the epidemic prevention and control period, Baotou Airport will continue to carry out body temperature monitoring, high-frequency disinfections and a strict information registration system to ensure passengers’ safety.

Passengers are required to wear masks to enter the terminal and cooperate with the airport to have their temperatures read and to register their information.
