Yantai to issue coupons worth 30m yuan in May, June

The Yantai government plans to issue coupons worth 30 million yuan ($4.24 million) to the public in an effort to stimulate local consumption.

The coupons cover catering, retail, tourism, culture, and accommodation and will be distributed in electronic form from May 1 to June 30.

Residents can book the coupons online via WeChat applets starting April 28. The value of each coupon ranges from 20 to 100 yuan.

The coupons will be saved into the recipient’s WeChat card package, and can then be used via the WeChat app and the digital coupons are only be used at physical stores.
