Penglai Pavilion and Sanxian Mountain scenic area in Yantai, Shandong province were highlighted on China's Central Television 4 for their safe and orderly management during the May Day holiday.

Tourists are required to present their health QR codes and ID cards and have their temperature taken at the entrances. At the same time, staff members also guided tourists into the park at intervals to prevent overcrowding.

Nanshan Mountain Scenic Area was also featured on CCTV1 for its blooming wisteria flowers, which proved extremely popular among tourists. Amid the epidemic, the area encouraged people to buy tickets online using their real names, and the maximum daily number of visitors was capped at 20,000 people.

Yantai’s tourism showed signs of recovery during the five-day May Day holiday partly thanks to coupons released by local government.

The Yantai government issued coupons worth 30 million yuan ($4.24 million) in an effort to stimulate consumption in the city, which has been adversely affected by the epidemic.
