Two patients infected with novel coronavirus in Yantai in eastern Shandong province have recovered and were discharged from local hospital on Feb 6, the first two discharged cases since the city reported its first confirmed case, local media reported.
One patient with surname of Liu is in her 40s and the other is 32 years old with surname of Wang. It took around 10 days for the two to recover from the coronavirus infection.
A team of medical experts evaluated their situation and found that the two patients had normal body temperatures for four days in a row, that symptoms in the respiratory tract were gone and pulmonary imaging showed that the root cause had been well absorbed.
The patients underwent a nucleic acid test for the coronavirus twice. Officials said that both tests showed a negative result and the two had thereby achieved the recovery criteria for the infection set by the National Health Commission.
