Yantai-based industrial design institute receives national development priority

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China recently announced its first batch of eight industrial design institutes which will receive national development priority.
The Shandong Industrial Design Institute based in Yantai, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province, was included in the list, the only one focusing on intelligent manufacturing.

The institute, China's first provincial industrial design institute, integrates world-leading technologies, design, and talent to provide innovative services and cooperation in basic research, technical support, commercialization of research findings, consulting services, personnel training, exchange and cooperation.

The institute has already completed a construction plan for key labs and design centers in 22 industries, established eight industrial design platforms and introduced 10 globally leading companies in related fields.
