Yantai, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province, held the fourth session of the 13th Yantai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on Jan 9-12.
A total of 466 CPPCC members participated in the opening ceremony of the session to discuss major political, economic and social issues in the city.
Zhu Xiuxiang, the chairman of the CPPCC Yantai Municipal Committee reviewed last year's work and introduced the major projects scheduled for 2020.
Qin Song, the deputy chairman of the CPPCC Yantai Municipal Committee introduced the general quo of the proposals. Since the third session of the 13th Yantai Municipal Committee of CPPCC, 673 proposals have been received, of which 402 have been put on file.
Proposals focusing on social services such as the improvement of urban transportation, services for the elderly, and children's education, account for 58.9 percent of the total.
During the four-day session, 518 were put forward and 402 were put on file, the majority of which focus on boosting the city's high-quality development, promoting the upgrading of industries and improving quality of life.
