A dazzling array of splendid Shandong dishes was showcased at the Yantai gourmet festival on Dec 23, which is being held in celebration for the upcoming New Year's Day.
More than 30 Shandong cuisine masters and renowned chiefs showcased their talents in making dishes and pastries, exchanging their cooking expertise with each other.
Shandong cuisine, also known as Lu cuisine, is one of the Eight Culinary Traditions of Chinese cuisine and one of the Four Great Traditions.
The event also included a famous cuisine exhibition and an excellent food materials exhibition, in which a full set of Ejiao banquet, along with a donkey banquet and a melon carving themed exhibition were displayed.
As part of the "Friendly Shandong Winter Tourism Promotion" activities, the gourmet festival, which will last until February, 2020, aims to highlight Yantai's featured dishes for visitors from home and abroad.
