Qingdao Port helps sustain anti-virus supply chain

A cargo ship belonging to Pacific International Lines (PIL), a Singapore-based operator, departed from Qingdao Port on April 29 and headed for Singapore carrying nine 40-foot refrigerated containers filled with epidemic prevention supplies from Shandong province.

The materials will be sent to Singapore along the Belt and Road route to help the country’s local epidemic prevention and control efforts.

The international community is currently dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, and the international demand for medical supplies and daily necessities is soaring. The transport industry is playing a particularly prominent role in supporting global connectivity.

As the domestic situation continues to improve, China has been ramping up efforts to support international trade, increase cooperation in business and trade, and coordinate the export of frozen vegetables and other food products to countries affected by the outbreak.

Qingdao Port, a branch of Shandong Port Group, is the largest refrigerated container port in China. It is uniquely equipped to transport refrigerated goods.

Qingdao Port puts particular focus on services for reefer containers. By making full use of its standby cold box plugs and cleaning its cold storage unit yard, it is able to meet the needs of customers and offer reliable transportation services for vegetables and other frozen products.

Qingdao Port plans to work with PIL and other shipping enterprises to establish a steady logistics chain for epidemic prevention supplies.
