Global Venture Capital Online Conference to open in Qingdao

The 2020 Global Venture Capital Online Conference will be held in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province from May 8-9.

Due to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic, the event will be held online.

A news conference was held on April 29 by the Qingdao municipal people's government to introduce the conference.

Venture capitalists, investors, deal makers and business elites from around the world will take part in the event, exchanging perspectives and experiences, and sharing insights into how Qingdao can become a global VC center and the world's industrial Internet capital.

The event will also include roadshows, project match-making activities, keynote speeches, roundtable forums, exclusive interviews, policy interpretations and more.

The conference aims to promote science and innovation and explore a new round of investment to support economic development amid the pandemic, said local officials.

It will also accelerate reform and innovation in the Qingdao Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, lend support to the demonstration area for local economic and trade cooperation between China and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and help build a new platform for international cooperation.
