Expert from Nanxishan Hospital introduces TCM culture to students

Yang Shaohua, director of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) department of Nanxishan Hospital in Guangxi, gave a lecture at Guilin's Jiangjunqiao Primary School on April 28 to promote TCM culture to students.

Yang introduced the role of TCM in the treatment of diseases, especially the unique effects it has in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic. In his speech, Yang discussed common Chinese medicinal materials, Chinese medicine culture, historically famous pharmacists, basic measures and characteristic treatments of Chinese medicine treatment, as well as famous Chinese medicine universities in the country.

Yang also planted five kinds of Chinese herbal medicine seedlings on the newly opened land with the students.

"To mark the upcoming Labor's Day, the activity aims to help students learn about TCM culture and develop good habits in respecting and loving work from an early age," said Lei Minrong, principal of Jiangjunqiao Primary School.
