Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, issued an action plan to increase the promotion and application of new energy vehicles (NEV), focusing on the construction of charging infrastructure and supporting operating services.
According to the plan, Nanning will strive to add 14,600 NEVs to the market, build 4,000 NEV charging piles with 7,600 charging sockets, and plan to construct 7,600 new dedicated parking spaces before December 2020.
Parking facilities in key areas like new residential areas, hospitals, schools, and commercial areas will be newly built or equipped, while public charging stations in major urban areas will be set up to meet users’ needs. NEV owners will enjoy more convenient travel experiences, such as the city allowing new energy trucks to pass through urban roads, new energy passenger cars to use conventional bus lanes, and free parking in dedicated spaces.

In addition, Nanning will enhance NEV-sharing services by establishing more rental outlets to further promote green commuting and travel, strengthen NEV application in government agencies and institutions at all levels, as well as promote the electrification of buses, taxis, and shared vehicles.
The Nanning government will also increase financial support to speed up the construction of charging infrastructure and to improve supporting operating services.
