Serious cases decreased by 4.

In all, 1,351 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 325 confirmed cases (including 5 in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on May 4, the National Health Commission had received reports of 82,881 confirmed cases and 4,633 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 77,853 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 395 confirmed cases (including 29 in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. So far, 735,240 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,152 are now under medical observation.

As of 24:00 on May 4, 1,523 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,040 in Hong Kong (4 had been dead and 900 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 45 in Macao (39 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 438 in Taiwan (6 had been dead and 334 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
