Advanced techs should be engine for social, economic development: Official

A conference on the industrial internet, digital economy, 5G network and data center construction work in Northeast China’s Liaoning province was held on April 28. Chen Qiufa, Party secretary of Liaoning, listened to the report on the progress of these works and announced further plans.

At the conference, Chen stressed that the construction of the industrial internet should lead the development of the digital economy and new infrastructure, it is an important measure to promote high-quality development and an important means to stabilize investment, expand domestic demand, adjust current industrial structure and promote growth.

Chen requested that relevant provincial departments should seize the opportunities offered by industrial digitization and digital industrialization to promote the development of the industrial internet, speed up construction and commercialization of the 5G network, and promote the digital, intelligent and internet transformation of traditional industries and public services.

In addition, he encouraged the promotion of the high standard construction of a data center, cultivation of a new mode for the digital economy, and improvement of the digitized intelligence level of social governance.

He added that government departments need to improve working mechanisms, strengthen publicity and guidance, create a good environment and provide strong guarantees for promoting the development of the industrial internet, digital economy and construction of new infrastructure.
