China (Nanning) Cross-border E-Commerce Pilot Zone in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has completed 6.82 million retail imports and exports this year with a transaction value of 284.01 million yuan ($40.08 million).
Nanning is a regional international city open to cooperation for ASEAN countries and an important node of the Belt and Road. The pilot zone has seen rapid growth in the number of enterprises entering the zone, cross-border e-commerce business volume, as well as cross-border e-commerce import and export volume since it opened in 2018.
The pilot zone has signed strategic cooperation agreements with major domestic e-commerce companies like Alibaba, JD.com, and SF Express, as well as introduced more than 50 cross-border e-commerce companies like Best Logistics and Subo Technology. A number of key projects, such as big data centers, direct purchase centers, and public bonded warehouses, have also been completed.
In addition, the cross-border innovation service center of Southeast Asia's largest e-commerce platform LAZADA in Nanning is under construction. It will build service systems, such as seller incubation, cross-border e-commerce live broadcasts, and multilingual cross-border e-commerce training, to help foster the China-ASEAN cross-border e-commerce industry chain.
In 2020, the pilot zone strives to introduce more than 30 cross-border e-commerce enterprises, as well as optimize the business model of bonded imports of goods relying on key projects in the construction of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the western Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
