Two separate signing and groundbreaking ceremonies for a total of 72 projects in Ejin Horo Banner and Dalad Banner – administered by Ordos city in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region – took place on April 14, according to local officials.
At one ceremony held in Ordos Jiangsu Industrial Park, 14 projects with a total investment of 21.6 billion yuan ($3.06 billion) were signed, while 10 projects with a total investment of 5.93 billion yuan broke ground.
The projects cover a variety of fields such as the modern energy economy, coal transportation, new materials, health care and equipment manufacturing.
Officials said these projects have high technology content, high industry relevance and broad market prospects, which are in line with the development of the leading industries in Ejin Horo Banner.
At another ceremony held in Dalad Banner, 48 projects in the field of agriculture started construction.
The projects are in, among others, modern agriculture and animal husbandry, poverty alleviation, ecological protection and construction, as well as power and transportation.
Among them are 14 social investment projects and 34 government investment projects jointly launched by 11 government departments.
Officials said the total investment for the 48 projects was 4.43 billion yuan.
