In the first quarter of 2020, 269 city-level key projects under construction in Xi'an, capital city of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, completed total investment of 56.18 billion yuan ($7.97 billion), accounting for 21.2 percent of the annual plan, nine percentage points higher than expected.
As of March 31, 62 of the 86 new projects had started construction, with a construction rate of 72 percent, exceeding the planned target by 22 percent.
The 26 key projects that were set to be completed during the year also accelerated their pace of construction. At present, the first phase of Xi'an Metro Line 5 and Xi'an Olympic Sports Center have completed more than 40 percent of the planned annual investment.
As of the end of March, 43 key projects in advanced manufacturing completed an investment of 14.45 billion yuan, accounting for 29.6 percent of the annual planned investment.
In addition, 13 cultural tourism projects and 73 service industry projects completed investment of 2.94 billion yuan and 10.28 billion yuan respectively. That accounted for 21.44 percent and 22.67 percent, respectively, of the annual planned investment.
