The information technology services industrial cluster in Guiyang -- capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- was selected as national strategic emerging industrial cluster this year and taking it as an opportunity, the city aims to achieve 20 billion yuan ($2.82 billion) in software and IT services revenue in 2020.
Local officials said Guiyang will build five municipal big data industrial cluster demonstration bases, each with an annual output value of over 1 billion yuan.
They said the city also plans to expand software services outsourcing --that features big data service, software and IT services -- with an annual target income of over 9 billion yuan, occupying 45 percent of total income from software.
To improve the competitiveness of big data companies, Guiyang will seek to attract 100 companies leading in software and IT services and the big data industry.
Guiyang also has plans to add a 50,000 square-meter big data security demonstration area, with its business revenue exceeding 100 million yuan.
