April 25: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 24, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 12 new cases of confirmed infections (1 indigenous case in Heilongjiang province and 11 imported cases), 3 new cases of suspected infections (1 indigenous case in Beijing municipality and 2 imported cases), and no deaths. 89 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 566 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 8.
As of 24:00 on April 24, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,629 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 909 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 720 confirmed cases (including 25 in serious condition) and 14 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on April 24, the National Health Commission had received reports of 82,816 confirmed cases and 4,632 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 77,346 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 838 confirmed cases (including 49 in serious condition) and 17 suspected cases. So far, 729,287 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,493 are now under medical observation.
On April 24, Hubei province reported no new cases of confirmed infections, no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 24 patients (all in Wuhan) were released from hospital after being cured.
As of 24:00 on April 24, Hubei had reported 68,128 cases of confirmed infections (including 50,333 in Wuhan) and 4,512 deaths (including 3,869 in Wuhan). In all, 63,593 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital, including 46,441 in Wuhan. There still remained 23 confirmed cases (all in Wuhan), with no cases in serious condition. There were no suspected cases.
On April 24, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 29 new asymptomatic cases (including 4 imported cases). 24 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 10 imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on April 24, 983 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 150 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on April 24, 1,508 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,035 in Hong Kong (4 had been dead and 725 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 45 in Macao (27 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 428 in Taiwan (6 had been dead and 264 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
