It is important to seize new opportunities for digital economy growth in the port city of Dalian in Northeast China’s Liaoning province -- and to expand the development of new infrastructure and speed up data interconnection and sharing, said Tan Zuojun, Party chief of CPC Dalian Municipal Committee.
Tan said digital technology is vital to facilitate advanced urban governance and build the city into a leading industrial springboard and a pioneer area of economic and social development.
Tan made his statements on April 22, during a factfinding visit to Dalian covering the construction and operation of an intelligent environmental management big data project and an intelligent urban management and command system. He also examined the construction of 5G infrastructure and a 5G SA core network in the metropolis.
Tan also stressed that Dalian should continue to promote the construction of data platforms with high standards, coordinate the operations of various platform systems, as well as to promote the development of urban governance towards unified network management.
In addition, it was essential to accelerate the construction of new infrastructure, meet key technical challenges, strengthen network security and constantly strengthen the technical foundations of Dalian’s advanced urban governance, he added.
