World demand for PCs soared in the first quarter of 2020, driven by remote working and learning requirements from strict lockdown measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, though it also caused severe delays in production and logistical issues, according to a recent report from market research company Canalys.
Chinese PC manufacturer Lenovo still topped the global PC market with 12.8 million units shipped. Of the top five, Apple was hit hardest in Q1, as its shipments fell by over 20 percent to 3.2 million units.
