The first digital town focusing on funding operations in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region officially started construction in Bama Yao autonomous county, Hechi on April 12.
Located in Lianxiang town, the digital fund town is being established in the Shenzhen-Bama Big Health Cooperative Special Pilot Zone in Bama. It is part of the second batch of characteristic towns in the autonomous region.
With a total investment of 4.8 billion yuan ($681.97 million), the project is designed by South Design Institute and is jointly constructed, operated, and managed with Bama Investment Group. It covers an area of about 4,800 mu (320 hectares) and a total construction area of about 960,000 square meters. Institutions like the China-ASEAN Big Data Center of Health Industry, a 5G lab, and a financial security platform for the health industry will be built.
The town will integrate the three elements of digital, health, and finance to lay a solid foundation for the high quality development of Bama. At present, a number of big data companies, such as Shenzhen Huawei Technology Co, the world's largest telecom equipment maker and a leading smart phone vendor, as well as Global Switch Limited, a London-based world-leading data facility operator, have settled in it in succession.
In the future, Bama will further accelerate major infrastructure projects, such as the China-ASEAN (Bama) Big Data Cloud Computing Base, the city smart operation center and city digital platform of Bama, as well as Huawei Cloud Platform. It will integrate artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, healthcare, tourism, and Internet+ industries by developing 5G and big data, promoting the high-quality development of Bama through digital infrastructure.
