South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair

The South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF) is held in Kunming, South China’s Yunnan province every two years. It is jointly hosted by the China Chamber of International Commerce, the South Asian Chamber of Commerce, the ASEAN-China Centre, and the China-South Asia Expo secretariat.

The SSACEIF focuses on exhibitions by South Asian and Southeast Asian countries, as well as promoting cooperation and negotiation between China and South and Southeast Asian countries. It is committed to creating an important platform for multilateral diplomacy, economic and trade cooperation, and cultural exchanges. It is also a platform for strengthening policy communication, facilities connectivity, unimpeded trade, and financing between China and countries and regions all over the world, as well as for promoting consultation, construction, and sharing in countries and regions along the Belt and Road.

The 2nd SSACEIF was held in Kunming from June 12 to 18, 2019, establishing 17 exhibition halls with 7,500 standard booths and an exhibition area of about 170,000 square meters. A series of important forums and matchmaking seminars were held during the event, while government agencies and business associations from all parties were invited to introduce investment policies, business environments, and projects. This provided a platform for all participants to conduct investment promotion and for Chinese enterprises to seek foreign investment.

The 2nd SSACEIF attracted 3,348 companies to participate in the exhibition, of which nearly half were overseas companies. A total of 407 projects were signed on the last day of the event, with a contract value of 609.3 billion yuan ($87.02 billion).
