Southwest China's Guizhou province recently released a five-year plan for scientific and technology innovation of its modern chemicals industry.
According to the plan, Guizhou will form a technology innovation system of modern chemistry by 2025 with the implementation of major projects, breakthroughs in key generic technologies, as well as the application of industrial technologies, equipment, and products.
In the next six years, Guizhou will launch over 100 projects in the phosphorus chemical industry, coal chemical industry, and other characteristic chemical industries, which will highlight the role of scientific and technological innovation leading the development of the modern chemicals industry development.
Guizhou will further strengthen the position and role of enterprises in technological innovation. By 2025, Guizhou will cultivate over 150 scientific and technological enterprises in the modern chemicals industry, as well as at least three innovative enterprises with strong innovation ability and competitiveness in the domestic and international market.
Guizhou also encourages chemical enterprises to establish R&D institutions to improve R&D conditions and capability. Enterprises should deepen cooperation with universities and institutions to achieve technological breakthroughs.
Guizhou is a province rich in phosphorus and coal resources. The modern chemicals industry is one of Guizhou's top 10 major industries with an output value of over 100 billion yuan ($14.19 billion).
