Alataw Pass, an important port of entry in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region connecting China with Kazakhstan, was hit by gale-force winds on Wednesday.
Facing such sudden bad weather, the police officers of the border entry inspection station stuck to their posts and promptly launched a special weather service to ensure smooth and safe customs clearances.
The port has carried out quick checks for trucks crossing the border. Because of the COVID-19 epidemic, officers took precautions while checking the vehicles, including wearing masks and protective suits.
Alataw Pass port of entry, which was established by the State Council in 1990, is the largest port in the region on the bodrder with Kazakhstan and is playing an important role as the region becomes better connected with the international community through the Silk Road Economic Belt.
