April 13: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 12, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 108 new cases of confirmed infections (98 imported cases and 10 indigenous cases, 7 in Heilongjiang province and 3 in Guangdong province), 6 new cases of suspected infections (all are imported cases, 4 in Heilongjiang, 2 in Shanghai municipality), and 2 deaths (both in Hubei province). 88 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,092 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 18.
As of 24:00 on April 12, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,378 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 511 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 867 confirmed cases (including 38 in serious condition) and 72 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on April 12, the National Health Commission had received 82,160 reports of confirmed cases and 3,341 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 77,663 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,156 confirmed cases (including 121 in serious condition) and 72 suspected cases. So far, 719,908 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 9,655 are now under medical observation.
On April 12, Hubei reported no new cases of confirmed infections, no new cases of suspected infections, and 2 deaths (both in Wuhan). 57 patients (all in Wuhan) were released from hospital after being cured.
As of 24:00 on April 12, Hubei had reported 67,803 cases of confirmed infections (including 50,008 in Wuhan) and 3,221 deaths (2,579 in Wuhan). In all, 64,338 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital, including 47,186 in Wuhan. There still remained 244 confirmed cases (including 243 in Wuhan), with 75 in serious condition (including 74 in Wuhan). There were no suspected cases.
On April 12, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 61 new asymptomatic cases (including 12 imported cases). 55 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 9 imported cases) and 28 became confirmed cases (all are imported cases). As of 24:00 on April 12, 1,064 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 307 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on April 12, 1,437 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,004 in Hong Kong (4 had been dead and 360 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 45 in Macao (13 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 388 in Taiwan (6 had been dead and 109 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
