Guangxi promotes technological innovation with talent resources

South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region is now accelerating the construction of an overseas talent pool to prepare for the establishment of China-ASEAN Science and Technology City, as well as to build a regional innovation center for ASEAN.

Since 2019, Guangxi's industrial innovation capabilities have been improved and its technological innovations have made new breakthroughs. The region's technology has made new contributions to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic prevention and control efforts this year.

Human resources have become a key element of the current technological innovation. According to data from the Guangxi Science and Technology Department, the region has funded the introduction of more than 357 foreign (overseas) experts in various fields, and has collected information on 630 overseas talents through its database.

In order to accelerate the in-depth integration of technology and economy, Guangxi will focus on the construction of overseas talent pools and the cultivation of innovative young talents, the in-depth implementation of the youth innovation and entrepreneurship training plan, as well as the establishment of special scientific research projects for youth. Relevant government departments will also provide efficient services for scientific and technological personnel.

In terms of expanding opening up and cooperation in science and technology, Guangxi will participate in the Belt and Road technology innovation, as well as build the Bangkok Innovation Center of the China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center. It will also promote the construction of the China-ASEAN Information Harbor and accelerate the preparation of China-ASEAN Science and Technology City.

In addition, Guangxi will also conduct exchanges with top domestic research institutes and high-level universities, connect the technological innovation resources of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as recruit talents from regions with strong technological innovation capabilities at home and abroad.
