Qin Chuncheng, mayor of Guilin, which is a famous tourism city in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, showcased Guangxi specialties to people across the country through a live stream on Apr 13 to encourage consumption.
Qin, along with two hosts of Guangxi Radio and TV Station, brought the public up close to experience the historical features of Dongxi Xiang, also known as East-West Alley, a popular attraction in Guilin that is known for its incredibly well-preserved ancient architecture and delicious Guangxi specialties such as beer fish, osmanthus rice caks, sanhua rice wine and Guilin rice noodles.
Guangxi has issued consumer coupons worth over 100 million yuan ($14.1 million) to drive consumption. As of April 7, a total of 2.6 million people in Guangxi had received a total of 115 million coupons, contributing more than 10 billion yuan in consumption.
