The first group of 145 Jilin medics returning from Wuhan spent two weeks in quarantine at Changbai Mountain and returned to their homes on April 5, according to local reports.
The medical workers are from 10 hospitals in cities of Changchun, Tonghua, Baishan, Songyuan and Gongzhuling. They were sent to help Wuhan in Central China’s Hubei province to fight the novel coronavirus epidemic on Feb 19 and after assisting Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, they returned to Jilin on March 22.
A farewell ceremony was held on the day for medics, with participation of more than 3,000 people, including officials from the Health Commission of Jilin Province, health commissions of the cities and locals at Changbai Mountain.
The Changbai Mountain management committee announced at the ceremony that two preferential measures were being offered to these medical workers.
One is that all medics assisting in Wuhan will always enjoy free entry to Changbai Mountain scenic area and another is that these medical workers can bring their family (two persons) to experience a healthcare holiday at Changbai Mountain, which involves one free hotel room within seven days and free entries to Changbai Mountain scenic area.
