Major projects in Zhongguancun resume

Major projects in Zhongguancun sub-parks have been resumed over the past few days, with ninety percent of enterprises back at work.

82 major projects in Changping Park will be resumed

There are a total of 82 major engineering projects in Changping Park this year, including 54 continued projects and 28 new ones. Of them, sixteen, including the Xiaomi Intelligent Park and the Tomorrow Advancing Life Changping Education Park, have been resumed, and the remaining projects will soon be as well.

Since February, Changping Park has signed agreements with 13 projects including Zhonggong Education and China Mobile Information, and introduced a total of 150 high-grade, precision advanced industrial projects.

In addition, the country's first research-based international medical industry transformation platform and a research hospital affiliated to Gaobo Healthcare Group started construction on March 25. These projects were included in Beijing' key project plan in February this year.

Ninety-nine percent of enterprises in Changping Park (a total of 297 enterprises) have currently resumed production.

Construction begins on third generation advanced semiconductor project invested by Shunyi Park

On March 30, building of the third generation advanced semiconductor plant got underway. Located in the Beijing Automobile Production Foundation of Shunyi Park, the project has a construction area of 74,000 square meters and a total investment of 428 million yuan. It is expected to be completed in April 2022.

According to reports, this project focuses on the R&D and large-scale production of carbon-based digital integrated circuits and sensor chips.

After completion, the core competitiveness and independent innovation ability of China's semiconductor industry will be improved and the development of high-grade, precision and advanced industries, especially the third generation advanced semiconductor industry, will be accelerated in Shunyi District.

Shunyi Park had earlier introduced 43 enterprises with a total registered capital of 820 million yuan. They included Beijing NAV Technology Corporation Ten of their projects, including the third-generation semiconductor joint innovation base and the Aerospace Industrial Park, have been resumed.

Daxing Park will expand by nine square kilometers and create a 100 billion-scale biomedical industry innovation cluster

According to reports, Daxing Biomedical Industrial Base will be expanded to 30 square kilometers and a 100 billion-scale biomedical industry innovation cluster integrating research, production, commerce, exhibition, and treatment will be completed in 2025.

Daxing Biomedical Industrial Base, with an existing area of only 13.4 square kilometers, achieved ultra-high-speed development last year. It generated total revenue of 29.3 billion yuan (4.14 billion dollars), an increase of 52 percent year-on-year, equivalent to 2.2 billion yuan (331.32 million dollars) per square kilometer, a current tax payment of 1.74 billion yuan (246.23 million dollars), an increase of 21.7 percent year-on-year, and over 2,000 patent applications.

This year, many enterprises in the base have participated in the battle against the epidemic. For instance, Hotgen Biotech Corporation and others have successfully developed COVID-19 nucleic acid detection reagents; ramulus mori total alkaloid, developed by Beijing Wehand-Bio Pharmaceutical Corporation, was approved for application; Shijiazhuang Yiling Pharmaceutical Corporation donated and supplied Lianhua Qingwen Capsules to the frontline; and Beijing Minhai Biotechnology Corporation quickly launched R&D into a "COVID-19 inactivated vaccine", working with the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Zhongguancun Administrative Committee will continue to pay equal attention to epidemic prevention and control and production and research, actively service innovation and entrepreneurship areas, and promote development.
