Qingdao Baijia Machinery Co in Qingdao West Coast New Area has resumed production to process overseas orders.
"We resumed production on Feb 10 with guidance from local authorities and are taking measures to prevent against infection amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus," said Li Ming, a director at the company.
"The raw materials we need are mainly from local suppliers, so our production remains unaffected by the epidemic," Li said, adding that the company is currently rushing to produce products as it has a backlog of orders extending to the end of April.
The company manufactures water-jet looms and air-jet looms. Its products are mainly sold to India and Pakistan and were valued at 78 million yuan ($11.15 million) in 2019.
"Domestic competition is quite fierce in this field, so we have had to set up a special sales team to expand operations in India and Pakistan. This year, we plan to expand our operations in the two countries," Li said.
