The local government provided pick-up services for 63,000 passengers, including 173 inbound travelers from the ports of Qingdao, Yantai and Weihai.
To cope with the global spread of novel coronavirus pneumonia, the local government has been strengthening checks on inbound travelers since March 16.
Yaoqiang International Airport set up check points at the entrance where inbound passengers are required to fill out a form detailing their whereabouts in the past 14 days. They are then taken to designated sites for quarantine.
At the entrances of Jinan railway stations, service centers were also set up for overseas passengers to declare and register their health information and whereabouts in the past 14 days.
Overseas passengers are required to report and register their information and cooperate with local staff members.
