​Jinan testing kit certified by CE

Novel coronavirus testing kits developed by a Jinan-based technology company recently received CE certification, which will allow them to enter the European market.

Shandong ACV Biotech Company developed the first test kit for the virus in Shandong province on Jan 17 through the efforts of eight staff members in the company. The test kit can detect the virus in around two hours.

The kit, which is highly sensitive and easy to use and transport, will be vital for the prevention and control of the epidemic. It is currently undergoing mass production and will help meet increasing overseas demand amid the surge of COVID-19 cases outside China.

Shandong ACV Biotech, with just over 80 employees, has made significant achievements in the field of genetic testing.

Its innovative molecular diagnostic products were widely used for the hand-foot-and-mouth disease in 2008, H1N1 pandemic (swine flu) in 2009, and H7N9 influenza (bird flu) in 2013.
