Laibin sets up 14 union service stations in Greater Bay Area

Labor unions at the city-level and county-level of Laibin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region have established a total of 14 service stations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to seek cooperation and promote its eastward integration.

The city and county labor unions of Laibin have conducted communications with local labor unions and chambers of commerce of cities in the Greater Bay Area, such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Dongguan, as well as signed exchange and cooperation agreements to promote the establishment of five cooperation platforms, including working mechanisms, employee services, talent training, investment promotion, and poverty alleviation cooperation.

At present, 14 union service stations have been established in Bay Area cities and a vocational skills training school has been built in Xiancheng, Guangxi by the Guangdong Wuxuan Chamber of Commerce to meet the employment needs of enterprises in the Greater Bay Area, as well as carry out precision training.

The service stations can effectively provide various services for Laibin workers working in Guangdong province. According to Wu Li, chairman of the Laibin Federation of Trade Unions, the city has reached cooperation intentions with labor unions of 14 cities in Guangdong province on deepening employee legal assistance, serving employees, the entrepreneurship and employment of employees, talent introduction, agricultural product promotion, as well as investment promotion.

The Laibin Federation of Trade Unions has actively promoted the labor resources of the city to further strengthen cooperation between enterprises in the Greater Bay Area and schools and training institutions in Laibin. To date, Laibin has held forklift and electrician training courses, as well as training in Cantonese cuisine and housekeeping, helping nearly 500 migrant workers find jobs in Guangdong.

In addition, the Laibin Federation of Trade Unions also provides transportation services for migrant workers in Guangdong. After work resumption amid the novel coronavirus epidemic, it has organized 11 chartered vehicles to send 214 migrant workers back to work.

In the future, it will strengthen communication with unions in cities in the Greater Bay Area, learn from the working experience in advanced regions, as well as carry out business exchanges and cooperation.
