Intl beverage giant to build factory in Guizhou

COFCO Coca-Cola Beverages Ltd signed an agreement with Guian New Area on March 27 to build a beverage factory, which will be the first of its kind in Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The project will have an investment of 270 million yuan ($38.04 million), covering an area of 157 mu (10.47 hectares). The factory will be equipped with two advanced soft drink production lines. Its construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.

The factory will be COFCO Coca-Cola Beverages Ltd's 20th factory with a design capacity of 170,000 metric tons. When constructed, it is expected to drive local employment and Guian’s economic development.

COFCO Coca-Cola Beverages Ltd was jointly established by COFCO, a leading supplier of agricultural products in China, and Coca-Cola in 2000. It is a professional beverage business platform of COFCO and one of Coca-Cola's top 10 global bottlers.
