Starting March 16, Hohhot Metro Line 1 has increased trains running during its peak morning and evening periods -- which are from 07:00 to 09:00 hrs and 17:00 to 19:00 hrs -- to provide more convenience for commuters in Hohhot, capital city of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to a report in the Hohhot Daily.
The operating time of the metro line is 07:00 to 21:00 hrs and the operating interval between trains during the peak periods has been shortened to 14 minutes. The operating interval for the remainder of the timetable is 20 minutes.
Metro officials said follow-up adjustments will be made in a timely manner in accordance with novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control and passenger flows.
According to Hohhot Rail Transport Co, due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, passengers must wear masks on metro trains and present valid ID cards or other valid documents to enter metro stations, as well as help staff take temperature readings.
Passengers are encouraged to download the Qingcheng Metro app and register with real-name authentication. Passengers can open the app to enter a station and take a metro ride with a QR code generated by the app.
Passengers who do not take metro rides with the Qingcheng Metro app, need to scan the QR code at the gate for real-name registration before entering the station.
