Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has implemented new regulations on screening passengers,Guangzhou Dailyreported on March 23.
The color categories used to separate arriving passengers have been changed from red, yellow, orange, and green to red and yellow.
All those entering the border via Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport without further transit will be marked with red labels, as well as those who are entering Guangdong province from other entry ports in China that have traveled abroad within the last 14 days. These passengers will be sent to the temporary gathering area at the east passenger station of Terminal 2 for further transfer.
Passengers who transfer at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and don't leave the airport, as well as those that will exit the border that have been sent by the Guangzhou municipal commerce bureau will be marked with yellow labels. They will then go through epidemiological investigation and nucleic acid testing sampling before being taken to designated areas for transit by staff members at the airport.
"In order to maintain vigilance at the points of entry from overseas, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has stopped the use of green marks, while the orange labels have been merged with red ones. Currently, only two colors of labels are on passengers' passports, making the whole screening processes clearer," said a person in charge of the airport.
