As a national large-scale hub airport and northwestern gateway, Xi'an Xianyang International Airport has been doing its utmost to make sure people travel safely during the novel coronavirus epidemic, officials said.
They said it has cooperated closely with the government, customs and border inspection departments to do the best job possible in prevention and control measures to help defeat the coronavirus pneumonia outbreak.
In accordance with national and industry standards, the airport has established a set of prevention and control systems with unified controls and strict procedures.
It has achieved full-coverage temperature registrations. With 13 infrared thermometers, auxiliary temperature guns and mercury thermometers, the airport is taking the body temperatures of passengers entering and leaving its terminals 24 hours a day.
Terminals, comprehensive transportation centers, as well as ground transport junctions, are disinfected uniformly. Special recycling bins for discarded masks were also set up to prevent a secondary spread.
The airport also established a dedicated fast track channel to ensure the transportation of medics, epidemic prevention supplies and charter flights for returning workers.
In addition, the airport has developed special procedures for domestic and overseas flights in key epidemic areas and passengers. Officials said these include special check-in counters, as well as security channels.
Looking ahead, officials said the airport will continue to pay close attention to the changes in the epidemic situation.
It will adjust its prevention and control plans and work processes in a timely manner, to strictly implement various prevention and control measures, while ensuring the safe operations of the airport and smooth passenger travel.
