In response to the flow of returned workers to Xi'an and the travel peaks by commuters in the city, Xi'an Metro has adjusted its operating times -- and launched optimizing measures to ensure transportation security and epidemic prevention, according to metro officials.
From Feb 10, the departure time of the first train in Xi'an Metro has been adjusted from 6:30 am to 6 am.
After adjustment, the operating hours of line 1, 3, and 4 will be 6 am to 10 pm, and the operating hours of line 2 will be 6 am to 11 pm. After 11 pm, two trains have been scheduled to transfer high-speed rail passengers every 30 minutes.
Officials said the Xi'an Metro also operates in a high-traffic and small-interval mode, which shortens travel intervals and improves ride efficiency.
During the epidemic, in order to avoid passengers gathering in and out of the train, the metro network station releases passengers in batches to control the number of passengers in the station.
In addition, it will monitor the passenger flow situation in real time. When there is a large passenger flow in some trains and stations, it will increase the number of trains to avoid crowding of platforms and carriages.
Xi'an Metro staff member said they will disinfect stations' public areas, facilities and equipment more frequently. Facilities and equipment in public areas will be disinfected and cleaned four times a day, public toilets every two hours and station air conditioners once a week.
A fast channel Xi’an Metro App will be launched soon. It is recommended that citizens make it a priority to use the app when taking the metro to avoid cross infection.
