With East China's Jiangsu province not reporting a new confirmed case of coronavirus for 31 consecutive days as of Friday, students will soon bid farewell to the longest winter break in history.
Students of grade 9 and grade 12 will go back to school on March 30 to prepare for the university and senior high school entrance exams after a winter break that lasted about 70 days, according to the provincial educational department.
Students of other grades will return to school after April 7, while college students will return after April 13. The detailed information about the reopening days will be decided by coronavirus control departments of each city and colleges in the province.
Jiangsu, which has more than 80 million permanent residents and a floating population of 20 million, cured all its 631 confirmed cases of COVID-19 on March 15.
