Xiamen in East China's Fujian province has rolled out an array of measures to meet the requirements for customs clearance for foreign trade at its ports, ensuring fast clearance for epidemic prevention and control materials from across the globe, Xiamen Daily reported March 18.
Due to the global coronavirus outbreak, the Xiamen government has paid great attention to the management of all international inbound passengers, and taken effective measures to prevent imported coronavirus cases.
Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport has applied advanced technologies such as big data analysis in border control to check travellers from hard-hit countries, in order to prevent an influx of COVID-19 patients from overseas.
At the same time, local governments have set up special teams to work around the clock to check all inbound buses, trains, flights and ferries, and improved mechanisms for data sharing, information disclosure and inspection of people entering Xiamen to prevent imported infections, creating a complete system for epidemic prevention and control in the city.
Additionally, Xiamen Customs and the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce are offering great support to foreign trade enterprises in the city, helping them to resume work in an orderly way, with the aim of stabilizing foreign trade and foreign investment.
