Lingjiushan Mountain Forest Rehabilitation Base in Kecheng district, Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province was added to the list of State-level forest rehabilitation bases on March 16, local media reported.
The list was compiled by the National Administration of Forestry and Grassland and the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
Forest rehabilitation is a form of rehabilitation that integrates modern medicine with traditional Chinese medicine through the use of forest resources and beautiful landscapes, while also relying on medical and service facilities.
The Lingjiushan Mountain rehabilitation base is located 12 km away from downtown and 14 km away from Quzhou Airport and Quzhou Railway Station.
The forestry area at the base covers 4,964.8 hectares, accounting for 90.4 percent of the total area. The base maintains high water and air quality, with the average annual negative oxygen ion concentration standing at 1468 per square centimeter.
The base houses 120 hotels and homestays, 6,000 beds, 30 restaurants, one shopping mall and three parking lots.
Visitors can experience various TCM practices at the base, such as acupuncture, cupping, tuina, moxibustion and pedicure.
There are also four places for visitors to experience agricultural culture, carry out team-building activities, and learn about forests and various scenic spots at the base, including Jiuhua Miaoyuan scenic area, Lingjiushan Mountain, and Miaoyuan River.
The base also hosts a series of sports events each year, including the National Forest Games, International Forest Car Racing, and Chinese University Students Mountainous-Outdoor Games.
To date, the base has welcomed more than 1.5 million visitors, generated 500 million yuan ($71.35 million) in revenue, offered 800 jobs to local residents, and brought in additional 18,000 yuan to each local villager.
More than six billion yuan is expected to be invested in the base in order to construct it into a popular State-level forest rehabilitation base with a particular focus on forest games.
