As of March 12, 376 of the 417 manufacturers above a designated scale -- the statistical term referring to those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.86 million) or more -- in Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region had resumed work, according to local media reports.
This took the work resumption rate in the city to 90.2 percent, officials said.
They said the industry and information technology bureau of Baotou has been making great strides in ensuring companies get back to work in the wake of the novel coronavirus epidemic -- with the application of information technologies and special funds to support the companies.
The bureau has organized the application for the funds for expansion, construction and the technological transition of autonomous region-based enterprises to epidemic prevention and control materials manufacturing.
In addition, the bureau supports the high-quality development of key industries.
To this end, it recommended that 88 projects operating in seven key areas apply for special funds for industry development in Inner Mongolia in 2020.
These were involved in the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements and the construction of scientific and technological innovation capabilities, officials said.
