Medical staff from Shanghai who were sent to Wuhan to help fight the COVID-19 epidemic have started to make their way home, with the first batch arriving on Wednesday.
Eight medical staff from Huashan Hospital and five emergency trucks were among the first to arrive in the city. Escorted by a police motorcade, the medical workers received salutes at the checkpoints while entering the city.
Another team consisting of 18 medics and eight emergency trucks from Shanghai East Hospital were expected to arrive later on Wednesday.
