With the novel coronavirus pandemic basically under control in Central China's Hubei province, the Shaanxi national emergency medical rescue team returned to Xi'an, capital of northwestern Shaanxi province, from Hubei's capital of Wuhan on March 17.
The 43-member team will take a break at Shaanxi Tangyu Sanatorium and receive isolation for 14 days.
The rescue team departed for Wuhan on Feb 4 to help out with diagnosis and treatment of the epidemic. With great technology and a high sense of responsibility, it managed 988 beds, observing and providing medical treatment for 1,235 patients.
"In the 43 days in Wuhan, I strongly felt that Wuhan people are very brave," said Qin Li, deputy chief physician of the obstetrics and gynecology department of Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital.
"Many citizens are contributing to the city's fight against the epidemic," Qin added.
She said that one example of this was a young man who came to the hospital to do cleaning. He always worked for more than 10 hours, to save a set of protective clothing being used by a relief worker.
The rescue team realized its work goal issued by the National Health Commission -- no deaths of inpatients, infection of medics, the return of cured patients and safe management.
It was highly praised by the National Health Commission, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
