The Report of the WHO-China Joint Mission on COVID-19, published on Feb 29, offers some insights into the pathogen and its transmission, as well as the symptoms, demographics, mortality rates and other data of the affected population.
The team, comprised of leading international and Chinese experts, visited Beijing, Guangdong, Sichuan and Hubei provinces, including the city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak in China, from Feb 16 to 24.
Headed by Bruce Aylward of the WHO and Wannian Liang of China, it consists of 25 national and international experts from China, Germany, Japan, Korea, Nigeria, Russia, Singapore, the United States and the WHO.
