A truss weighing 58 tons was placed onto two concrete pillars of the Jinan Greenland International Expo Center on March 3, marking the start of the main phase of construction.

The center is designed to cover a total area of 1.2 million square meters and will have 510,000 square meters of exhibition space, which will make it the largest exhibition venue in the world upon completion.

The project will be constructed in three phases. The first phase covers an area of 343,000 square meters and includes an exhibition area, conference centers, a parking lot, and five-star hotels.

From above, the building takes the form of a "V", a design inspired by the Yellow River. A supporting hotel for the center has been designed in the shape of Shandong's Mount Tai.
