Jinan, capital of Shandong province, has developed its own complete mask industrial chain, thanks to the efforts of local manufacturing companies. The city is currently able to produce nearly one million masks per day.
With the demand for masks surging amid the novel coronavirus outbreak, local manufacturing companies have made efforts to develop and produce the equipment and raw materials needed for mask production.
Jinan First Machine Tool Company developed a fully-automatic production line to complement its automatic packaging line.
The production line can efficiently complete the entire production process, including packaging, without the need for any manual labor.
Raw materials such as nonwoven fabrics, nose strips, and elastic bands are also important for the production of masks.
Shandong Yongxin Nonwovens Co, located in Zhangqiu district, is now the fifth largest nonwoven company in China in terms of output, and its products are of high quality.
The company not only provides nonwoven fabric for mask production, but also nonwoven fabric needed for sterilization. It has a daily output of over 70 tons.
The company is expected to expand production capacity to produce more products such as protective clothing and sterilizing products.
Shandong Hualing Cable Co has switched to producing mask strips. Currently, the company has a daily production capacity of 2.5 million to 3 million.
Jinan Shengquan Group is actively developing melt-spraying material, a core raw material needed for mask production.
At present, the mask production capacity of the group is rapidly expanding. Its daily output of masks went from 300,000 to 500,000.
