Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, began providing pick-up service on Feb 12 at its four railway stations -- Jinan Station, Jinan West Station, Jinan East Station and Daming Lake Station -- to help with novel coronavirus virus prevention and control, the local media reported.
Officials said that passengers arriving at Jinan stations shall receive temperature testing, ID card inspection and information registration.
After registration, charter buses, organized by the local government, will pick up passengers heading for the transfer stations of each county and district and then help them arrive at their final destinations.
Officials said the capacity of buses will be kept to less than 50 percent, so there will be no concerns about the close contact.
For passengers who want to choose taxis, drivers can also pick them up and take them to transfer stations.
