The seventh group of medical workers from Jinan, capital of Shandong province, rushed to central China's Hubei province on Feb 15 to help combat the ongoing novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak, local officials said.
The city has previously sent a total of 68 professional medical workers specializing in intensive care medicine, infectious diseases, and respiratory medicine to Hubei, the epicenter of the outbreak in China.
The Jinan government is taking the prevention and control of the epidemic very seriously, and is putting particular focus on support for medical workers on the frontlines, according to Ma Xiao'en, director of the Jinan municipal health commission.
The government has already set up a team to provide support to front-line medical workers and communicate with them on a daily basis.
Medical workers provide updates to the government every two days and regularly inform them of emergencies.
